NotaLedge — Privacy Policy
NotaLedge is a business ledger for mobile notaries and loan-signing agents, published by ByteHaven Studios LLC. This policy describes what the app does with your information. It is short because the app does very little with it.
The short version
NotaLedge does not collect any data. It has no account system, no analytics, no advertising, and no telemetry. It does not transmit your ledger anywhere. Everything you enter stays in the app's private storage on your own device.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you enter — signings, fees, hiring companies, expenses, mileage trips, receipt attachments, your business profile and your settings — is written to a database in the app's own private storage on your device. On Android that is the app's internal storage; on iOS it is the app group container shared with the NotaLedge widget. Neither is readable by other apps.
We never receive a copy. There is no server to receive one.
Network access
NotaLedge makes no network requests.
- The Android build does not declare the
INTERNETpermission. An app without that permission cannot open a network connection at all — this is enforced by the operating system, not by our good intentions. - The iOS build declares no network entitlement and contains no networking code.
The only permission the Android app declares is com.android.vending.BILLING, which
exists so Google Play can process the one-time Pro purchase.
Purchases
The one-time NotaLedge Pro unlock is processed by Google Play Billing on Android and by Apple StoreKit on iOS. Your payment details are handled entirely by Google or Apple and are never seen by NotaLedge or by ByteHaven Studios. The app receives only a yes/no answer about whether the unlock is owned, which it stores locally.
Google's and Apple's own privacy policies govern that transaction.
When data leaves your device
Only when you explicitly send it. NotaLedge can export your ledger as CSV, PDF or a ZIP bundle, and can produce a PDF invoice. Those files go wherever you choose to put them — a folder you pick, an email you compose, a share sheet you tap. The app never starts that on its own, and once a file leaves the app it is governed by whatever service you handed it to.
Backups
The Android build sets allowBackup="false" and denies data extraction, so your ledger
is deliberately excluded from Android's automatic cloud backup. On iOS the Pro
entitlement flag is excluded from device backup. If you want a copy of your ledger, use
the app's own backup export — that is the supported route, and it puts you in control of
where the file lands.
What NotaLedge is not
NotaLedge is a business bookkeeping ledger — income, mileage and expenses. It is not a notarial act register. It does not record signer identities, identification documents, thumbprints or any other notarial record, and it is not a substitute for the record your jurisdiction requires you to keep.
Children
NotaLedge is a tool for working professionals. It is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Your rights
Because we hold none of your data, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or delete. Your data is yours, on your device. Deleting the app deletes it. Export a backup first if you want to keep it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at
https://notaledge.bytehavenstudios.com/privacy with a new effective date.
